Meet the Happy SCAMPers

Larry Roberts, Interim President

We sure got lucky when Larry Roberts took an interest in SCAMP and the animals of CCAC! Of course, Larry had long been sharing CCAC animals on social media, and as we quickly learned, was a force for good in the community. A senior vice president at Pinnacle Financial Partners, right in Ashland City, Larry has a wealth of banking experience and knowledge. Larry has served on several nonprofit boards and is well known in Cheatham County, having grown up in Kingston Springs and now living in Ashland City! Most importantly, Larry is a great guy who is liked and respected by staff and volunteers and the animals love him too!

Mark Alonzo, Community Representative

Mark has been a volunteer at CCAC since 2020, and has found creative ways to fundraise and support SCAMP through the years. We are excited to take his knack and inspiration for fundraising and put it to good use this year, as we seek out new and fun ways to increase donations! Mark has spearheaded several initiatives including our first BBQ dinner plate at the Mud Puddle in 2022 and a successful Art In The Park table in 2023. Mark is well known in the community for his giving heart, his musical talent, artistic skills, and his cooking talent! So let’s give a cheer and a big hearty welcome to the board for Mark Alonzo!

Jessica Jackson, Social Media Specialist

This spring, we welcomed Jessica Jackson onto the board of SCAMP as our social media specialist! As a frequent dog walking volunteer, Jessica has long been known for her photography skills, with a knack for capturing adorable photos of our adoptable animals. We decided to put her talent to good use by having her at the helm of the SCAMP Instagram and Facebook pages as well as keeping up with the SCAMP Blog! We look forward to seeing her creativity in action! When not volunteering at CCAC, Jessica is an accomplished lawyer, wife, mother and pet owner, so we know that she will be an asset, and we feel fortunate to have her input on the SCAMP Board!

Allison Turner, TNR Tsar

Allison has been involved as a volunteer in a variety of capacities at Cheatham County Animal Control for years. In 2024 we made it official and asked her to oversee our Community Cat program for SCAMP! This community based spay/neuter program has been extremely popular and we are so glad that Allison said yes! Allison will oversee the scheduling and coordination of this program so we can get as many kitties fixed as space and funding allows. Follow our social media pages for the next community cat day, happening throughout the year!

Brittany Sellers, Director of CCAC

Brittany Sellers, as Director of CCAC, is not only on the Board of SCAMP, but she is our working partner and primary point of contact at CCAC. Serving first as an Animal Control Officer, Brittany understands the complexities of running an animal control facility in a large rural county. Brittany shares SCAMP’s vision that every animal deserves a chance, and for that reason we work extremely well together, making for a smooth relationship when we need to come together to help animals in need. SCAMP knows that if Brittany asks for something, we need to take that request seriously and do what we can to Make it PAWsible!

Robin Lapre, Founder and Past President

Robin has been active in volunteer programs in numerous counties throughout middle Tennessee, but Cheatham County Animal Control really struck a chord with her, ever since she established their volunteer program in 2019. There is no other shelter that has the small town community feel, the can-do spirit, and the natural beauty found in Cheatham County. It soon became apparent that extra funding was needed to provide care beyond the scope of the county budget. So Robin started SCAMP with the goal of Making it PAWSible! Now as a past president, Robin still provides some guidance as to what has worked in the past, and is excited to watch SCAMP continue to grow in the future!
